Expanding Tenant Support: NIDC’s Partnership with Urban Homeowner Corporation

Access to safe, stable, and affordable housing is essential for a thriving community. NIDC works closely with tenants, landlords, and homeowners across the Bronx to address housing challenges, prevent evictions, and improve living conditions. As part of our continued commitment to housing stability, we are proud to announce our partnership with Urban Homeowner Corporation to expand tenant support services for residents of Crotona VII.

A New Resource for Crotona VII Tenants

To kick off this partnership, NIDC hosted an open house event on March 6, 2025, where Crotona VII tenants had the opportunity to learn more about our services and meet their dedicated Service Coordinator. This new on-site support will be available once a week, from 10 AM to 2 PM, providing tenants with direct access to housing-related social services, tenant counseling, and assistance navigating rental challenges.

The open house was a great success, with tenants eager to ask questions, schedule appointments, and connect with available resources. The event was filled with discussions and light refreshments, creating a welcoming environment for tenants to voice their concerns and learn how NIDC can support them. The enthusiasm reinforced a critical need for accessible tenant support services in the Crotona VII community.

How NIDC’s Housing Program Supports Bronx Residents

NIDC’s Housing Program provides tenant support services aimed at ensuring Bronx residents have access to secure and sustainable housing. Our services include:

  • Eviction prevention and housing court advocacy

  • Tenant counseling and landlord mediation

  • Building and maintenance resources

  • Benefits access for rent subsidies and social services

  • Workshops, tenant organizing support, and homeownership resources

By bringing these essential services directly to the Crotona VII community, NIDC and Urban Homeowner Corporation are working together to empower residents, improve housing stability, and strengthen tenant rights.
