Social Worker
/Position Title: FT/PT Social Worker
Location: The Bronx, NY
Salary Range: $60-$70 an hour, commensurate with qualifications
Hours: Mornings 9:00-1:00 and/or 2:30-6:30 Monday – Friday
Position is funded at least thru 8/23
Objective and Position Summary
NIDC’s Part-Time Social Worker will be responsible for supporting program participants and their families through the creation and implementation of a therapeutic community through staff trainings, family workshops, and family referrals to ongoing support, as well as participate in emerging program development processes.
The Social Worker is under the direct supervision of the Associate Executive Director, working collaboratively with the Associate Director of Youth Services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Create, plan, and facilitate workshops that will help parents develop greater parenting skills, self-care, and how to support themselves and their children through the lasting social-emotional effects of COVID-19 and other stressors
· Create, plan, and facilitate staff trainings such as:
o SEL-focused classroom management,
o How to speak with parents about sensitive topics,
o other trauma-informed topics SEL-focused behavior management programs
· Find outside sources for families and provide referrals when appropriate

Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in Social Work required
COVID-19 Considerations
Must be fully vaccinated in compliance with NYC/NYS mandates
Work Location: Main office with significant time spent in the field
