Celebrating Love and Friendship in Our After-School Youth Program
/Last month, our after-school students came together to celebrate love, friendship, and community through creative projects, fun games, and peer connections. Valentine’s Day provided a wonderful opportunity for students to express appreciation for the special people in their lives while building friendships within the program.
On Thursday, February 13th, students tapped into their creativity with a special craft project called "You Stole a Pizza of My Heart." This activity encouraged self-expression and playfulness, allowing students to create unique artwork that showed appreciation for their peers.
The festivities continued on Friday, February 14th, with a Valentine’s Day party. Students enjoyed delicious pizza before diving into a series of interactive games, including "Don’t Break My Heart" and "Valentine’s Day Tic Tac Toe" a sweet twist on the classic game.
After the games, students took time to create personalized Valentine’s Day cards, writing heartfelt messages for friends, family members, teachers, or anyone special in their lives. The activity provided a meaningful way for students to practice gratitude, kindness, and thoughtfulness.
Beyond the crafts and games, this celebration was about fostering a sense of belonging and joy in our after-school community. By participating in these activities, students had the chance to express themselves, build friendships, and create lasting memories.
We love seeing our students grow, connect, and celebrate together. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!
