NIDC’s Health Hub Kicks Off 2025 Strong | Asthma Awareness Workshop

In January, we hosted an Asthma Awareness event at Eastchester Gardens, bringing essential health education to our Bronx community. Led by Victoria Adegbite, MPH, and Melesha Bressett from the American Lung Association, participants gained valuable insight into asthma triggers and the social factors that impact respiratory health. 

The good news? Asthma is treatable—and with the right action plan, including medication management and lifestyle changes, people can take control of their health. Victoria and Melesha led a powerful, open conversation about the fears surrounding chronic illness and why connecting with available resources is so important. 

At NIDC, we believe knowledge is power—and when we share it, we all breathe a little easier.
